Peter Brennan & TCUP Bring Us a Blast From the Past with “Chicago” Remix

New York brothers Peter Brennan and TCUP have managed to transform a blast from the not-so-distant past and escort it into the modern era with their remix of ‘Chicago’, which was originally released by Sufjan Stevens in 2005. The original, which was sampled by Chiddy Bang for their ‘All Things Go’ track, has had several versions amongst Steven’s Illinois and The Avalanche albums, but was never truly given new life until now.

Tackling a former Pitchfork 500 song takes guts, but the result of this remix effort is an equally uplifting reinvented track which highlights the successes of the original  and creates new moments to enjoy and explore. Decidedly intended as a big room track, this track borders on progressive house and electro, with a snare-heavy bounce.

This track is currently available for free download on TCUP’s Soundcloud here.
